Great video Sam. Omg, dating world is so toxic. I’m enjoying my celibate life with no toxic people. My last meeting up with a man to have a coffee and chat only to hear him say he loves me and i’m so beautiful and talks about moving in together 😳 than he mentions he lives in his parents basement 😂 I couldn’t help but laugh out loud 😂 I had no problem saying No thank you. Holy crap! Best cup of coffee and it felt awesome talking my truth and frankly laughing while I did it. Not going to put up with the BS from anyone any more.

Also if you feel lonely find a new hobby, take a class, volunteer, get a pet. You will meet new people and make new friends and have new experiences.

Also set healthy boundaries. If someone doesn’t respect your boundaries they don’t respect you.

I’m not looking for a codependent relationship more independent relationship or an Interdependence relationship.

Absolutely true re: loneliness leading to poor decision-making. I was so lonely when my narcissistic ex came (back) into my life. It was so easy to fall into the shared delusion - the fantasy seemed more real than reality. At a point, we have to stop blaming and focusing on them (just think how much they would get off on knowing that they still hold some kind of power/control over us) and focus on our own self. I also think that while they often see characteristics in us that they wish they possessed, I think we too (however subconsciously) see aspects in them which we admire and wish to emulate too; at least, after reflection, I did.

Learning spirituality, alongside learning about narcissism will help you with self-love . To finally realize that you don’t need anyone to love you, but rather you need to love yourself first.

When you become content with your company, then you will be in the right state of mind to be able to discern who to invite in.

Like a cold splash of water on your face, recognize you have to respect yourself first in order for anyone else to respect you.

Truth, when I look back at my relationship with the narcissistic ex I see that when we got together that I was vulnerable because 3 years on my own made me ready and open for a relationship. And early in there were signs but I was hooked. Better single than trapped. Thanks Professor Sam.
