Except this isn't even what karma is at all. According to the religions that believe in Karma, your Karma in this life does not affect anything in this life. Rather, your Karma in this life, DOES affect your Karma in your next life. The idea behind Karma in those religions is that both good and bad karma attaches to you based on your actions and thoughts and that the goal is to achieve perfectly neutral karma to break free from the cycle of reincarnation. Your balance of positive and negative karma when you die transfers over to your next life. If you have more positive karma, you are thought to be reincarnated into a better life. The same is said if you have more negative karma you will have a worse life in your next reincarnation. Hence why they say you must have been very bad or had very negative karma in your previous life if you have a shitty life in this life. Karma has no interaction with your current life!

Anyway, I'm a Christian, so I don't believe in Karma at all. It goes against my beliefs. We don't care to achieve neutrality. In Christianity, we strive to live a life that resembles the life of Christ. 🙂
