We attended Oktoberfest 2019 in Munich, Germany with basically no idea what we were doing. We rented Lederhosen, and just kinda showed up. We learned a lot, so this is our guide with tips, advice, and the basic rules of Oktoberfest.

The take-away/bottom line up front is that you need to either reserve a table (minimum 10 people), or you need to be ready to work your way into several tents and follow our advice!

Okay guys, the audio in this video is not up to our standards - we didn’t have a mic on the camera. Es tut mir leid.

Awesome! Since I’m unable to attend this year, I brewed my own Octoberfest beer at home. Cheers from Texas!

I want to go to Oktoberfest every year! Love the outfits, love the people, love the beer! Next time, it should be a review of “rides of Oktoberfest”!

Hey I‘m from Munich and I go to Oktoberfest every year and I have to say I didn’t expect a tourist to make such a good video on a guide to the Wiesn. Only thing I would have to add is that most tents close their entries around 5-6 pmso if you are only there for a few days make sure to come in the early noon hours :)

It looked like you both had a blast! I got to go awhile back when I was stationed over there in the Army. They had our entire company form-up at like 4am in civies for a "mandatory fun day". Everyone was mad until our CO said we'd be getting on buses and heading to Oktoberfest--funny how quick the mood changed. Before we went in my Squad Leader had his re-enlistment ceremony in the parking lot wearing a Grateful Dead t-shirt and Birkenstocks. He was sworn-in by our Platoon Leader who was clad from head to toe in traditional German lederhosen. As entertaining as that was, it paled in comparison to our accountability formation before we left. An entire company of trashed joes trying to get it together and play soldier in the parking lot of the Oktoberfest. While in formation, there were people puking and sitting on the ground. Our Platoon Sergeant was wasted with spilled beer all over his shirt and running around with a giant mug of warm beer making everyone drink from the "Platoon Mug". My buddy got dropped and had to do drunken push-ups. Good times. Thanks for the reminder!

I just booked my 3rd visit for 2020. First time we had a table reserved no issues. went in 2014 no reservations and had to wait in a long line for about 4 hours to get into a tent. Did you have to wait long went you tent hopped? I'd like to avoid a reservation, but also avoid the long wait.
