As a New Zealander living in Bayern whos been to Wiesen, Frühlingsfest and Herbstfest in Rosenheim, I must say never again Oktoberfest. Its just for tourists now, whereas its much more fun and authentic at other smaller cities or towns.

Most important thing forgotten here.
Every tourist holds the Masskrug wrong.
Every tourist eats Weisswurst wrong.
Every tourist eating Käsespätzle leaves the green salad that comes along behind, but it is to be eaten together.

In my first oktober last year, my friends wanted to back home early (that was very good because we lived 4 hours by train) but I was very drunk and I stayed there ALONE, and it was one of the most crazy days in my life, I met a lot of people, I spend a lot of money too hahaha and in the end of the night I went to a hotel because was heaving a after party there.
This year I am living in Crailsheim, so I you go here, Stuttgart and one day again in Munich, and I will buy my Dirndl 😍🥰

I want to clear up a big misunderstanding here. Many believe that you are not allowed to go to the Oktoberfest or to a beer tent without Lederhosen and Dirdl. If you cannot or do not want to afford high-quality lederhosen or dirndls, it is better to go to the Oktoberfest with normal clothes.
Please do not buy any 25€ outfits that imitate lederhosen or dirndls that are available in Munich at this time. That's wasted money. Also, these imitations are an insult to humanity.
If you decide to dress in good traditional clothing, please don't forget to wear appropriate shoes. Ballet flats and sneakers are an absolute no-go for dirndls and lederhosen. Black or brown Mary Janes or Derby shoes, on the other hand, are absolutely appropriate.
A Munich resident tells you that.

8:00 Did you know that beer is actually a kind of tea? Like ice tea only not so cold.

the excessive drinking and puke everywhere at Oktoberfest is just 100% disgusting. Luckily there is also a nice side beside this drinking stuff there.
