I have been listening to this man for years - since 1970 (I hope it's OK to be old - seems so right now!). I heard a song by him in 1970 on the radio called "Walk Away" and I knew immediately this was a unique and very special guitarist. Great vocal too. Analog man is really a great album. I love these tutorials and a glimpse into his inspiring character. Seems a fun guy and his playing is playful.

Joe's great... I once was fortunate enough to have watched him playing up close in a bar with only about 30 people present... I swear I learned more in that 3 hours or so than I'd learned in 10 years. He plays a lot of stuff straight off the top of his head... totally spontaneous... he knows the guitar so well, that it's totally unlocked and open to his personal expression... straight from his mind, through his fingers, into the amp and out the speaker. Amazing player.

I love Joe. He always gives me the impression he wouldn't have a clue how to play a guitar. He's kind of the "Columbo" of guitars. You dismiss him off hand. But below the surface he is really a very brilliant guy. He's such a character.

Any young players would be well advised to "inhale" Joe Walsh. Totally unique, his playing always is original, and he never, ever overplays. To hear him talk about guitar in these videos is priceless. Thanks Joe!
