This video shows how to interpret the resistance value in context of the range selected. Starting from the lowest range, if the meter doesn't display a value, then move up a range and so on until you see a value. The range then tells you whether that value is in the Ω, kΩ, MΩ range. I had to go through several such videos to get this here. Thanks.

My 45 year old Radio Shack multi meter just tells the value without fiddling moving the selector switch and my older analog multi meter does it automatically also. New multi meters suck.

You should firstly show how to identify the real value of the resistor.Then secondly you start the testing and finally you compare both results to determine whether the tested resistor has gone bad or is still usable my friend..that would have been a much useful tutorial my friend
