Mary Wells was one of my all time favorite singers and I was devastated when I learned she left this world but what hurted me more was that she was another victim of being cheated by Motown and was broke. Even though she was still selling records (cd's and cassettes) she wasn't making a dime so when she was in her death bed, she was penniless, But thanks to huge artists like Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springteen, Elton John, and others came to her rescue. They got together to pay for her hospital bills. Kudos to them for coming together to help out a legend 🙏🏽❤

She really needs to be inducted into the R and R Hall of fame. There were great songs recorded on other labels too. She could easy transition from the smooth and sexy sound to the funkly soulful sound. If you want to hear a nice club sound - try listening to Gigolo.
