I saw Mary Wells on Fremont Street at a casino about 30 something years ago and sat in the front row . I brought a cd cover with me to see if I could get an autograph .after the show I went to the bar and saw one of the band members . I asked him if he thought she would give me an autograph and he said, hell ya ! Anyway I meet her and she autographed my cover and she said, oh they have cds of me ? She died broke . She was beautiful, kind, and I love her music ! God bless Mary Wells !

She was a breathtakingly beautiful woman. Her eyes were captivating. She had the voice of an Angel. She had such a unique and warm quality to her voice. I wish I could have seen her perform live. I can't get over how she did her hair back then, it was gorgeous. Anyway too bad I don't have a time machine. She was a national treasure. RIP Mary ❤️🙏

Mary Wells is a legend. She will never be forgotten by those who love her. There is just no comparison with the likes of Nikki Minaj. Anyone who listens to the Motown sound of the early to mid 1960s knows Mary Wells was great. She doesn't even need the Hall of Fame, she is already there and a legend. Rest in Peace, Mary.

Saw her years ago in concert at the Orange County (California) fair. She sang all of her Motown hits. She was a sweet lady. Had a voice of a angel.

Mary Wells belongs in the Hall of Fame as well as a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Smooth, Silky, and sweet as honey voice can never be duplicated. Her recordings for other companies were great too. Although she was smoothy and she recorded soulful sounds for other companies. Very impress with her recording of Gigolo. Very versatile singer and is the Queen of Motown.

I played her vinyl albums until they were worn out & I did babysitting and shoveled snow in people's driveways for money to buy new ones. I dreamed my entire life to be a backup singer at Motown. The whole orchestra on this song is unreal. Her voice is sweet & has a little sand at the edges of the sea. Mary Wells was my heart as a teenager. Love to you Mary. You were a Goddess.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you remember when we actually WAITED for Mary Wells next hit? I say hit because that's just about all she did was spit out HITS. We had an honest and true love and appreciation for her music, style and presence. I saw her LIVE at the Regal theater in my town more than once and believe me, she was Royalty. Seems like I saw most of the Motown folks back then. RIP Mary and Happy New Years to all her fans old and new. She was an awesome lady. :)

I sure hope Mary gets inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!! It's an anomaly that she's not in there already!!

Peaked at #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 list in '63. The song was written and produced by Smokey Robinson and was released on Berry Gordy's label 'Motown' (he had three - Tamla, Motown, and Gordy)
