A customer of ours brought in a gaming PC that had recently been upgraded by the customer with a new CPU which was Ryzen 5 5600G, however, after doing so, the system wouldn't boot up at all. So in this video, we tested out the system and determined that the Bios was causing the issue because the newer Ryzen 5 5600G wasn't compatible with certain bios versions of the Gigabyte B450 DS3H, so by doing a quick bios update, we were able to fix the issue and get the system back to the customer. Im not sure if all of them, but most AM4 motherboards support bios by USB in USB0 and doing a procedure (which I dont remember), so you dont have to change the CPU for a compatible one while updating

Most motherboards allow a bios update by using a USB stick as well, so you don’t need to use a spare CPU

Anyone capable of doing a processor upgrade or swap should be competent enough to understand what is required. If it didn't work after they changed something, they themselves are the common denominator; on all counts.

I used a 5600g and a b450m pro4 for my first pc build and didn't know about the bios update until after my parts arrived. I thought I needed a loaner cpu to update with but thankfully the board actually arrived with updated firmware and I was stoked.

Some Gigabyte motherboards have Q flash. No need to get an older CPU to update BIOS with Qflash, just power to the CPU and the correct USB stick with the new firmware on it

I did a CPU upgrade recently, from a Xeon e5-1620 to i7-6950x. I'm surprised it worked like a charm, plug and play, no need for a bios update or anything.

I did a complete rebuild for a friend of mine. He said the components were dead. 2 years went by and I wanted to run a arc server so I revisited the "dead" components. It posted but would boot cycle crashing every time it tried to load windows. I verified with him what the components were and found the culprit. He said it was a ryzen 5 2400. But the mobo reported it as a ryzen 5 1400. So I re flashed the bios to the very first the motherboard ever had and the system booted windows. It was satisfying to fix it and get a computer for little to nothing.
