Have to agree Dave. My son recently said I'm different than I used to be since starting to raise bees. Yesterday for example, I went to the bees and stood from the back of the hive, leaned over the top and just sat and watched the bees coming and going. It's almost meditative. The bonus, its brought me closer to my son.

Hi I'm Steven, Sierra is my daughter. LOL. I'm excited to be getting my first hive this spring. I enjoy every article I read. every book I have.
what I have that means so much more is a lady beside me that has my back. I know when I have problems she will be there helping me figure out what went wrong.
the only way we truly fail is to give up.

This is like a sermon on the BEE-attitudes! Love it! Thanks for the very timely words of wisdom, David.

This video couldn’t come at a better time! My wife and I spent the day combining a couple of very weak colonies preparing the girls for winter. We had so many questions, but thankful to learn!! Thanks!!

Thank you, David. This is my first year, starting with 2 hives - and I'm probably around your age. I built the hives myself last Winter --- but with plans that were not 'standard' measurements. First mistake. I started out the way you mentioned... 'just get them and let them do what they do'. But I want to learn to do it well now. I hope they survive this Winter. I've been feeding with your Fall 1:1 formula since Sept 1. Inspection last weekend showed almost no brood at all in the lower deep, but tons of bees (and they were mad 🙂). So I hope they are all Winter bees by now. If I lose a hive this year, hopefully I'll learn how to do a split next Spring.

Indeed Dave, always best to try and make something of the day. It doesn't always work, but the trying matters...Dave, bees hijacked my life! I can't wait to close the bees up for winter so I can get some things done around the house. You always seem to have a positive spin on things, thanks for posting.

Hi David, I appreciate you so very much. I got my first start of a hive this past June. November is almost here and bam! I got my first sting. I have very mellow bees. The bad news is I am allergic to them. My arm swelled but I am not giving up. I need to get both gloves back on. It is on my to-do list to take your classes. My experiences have been phenomenal! (other than the sting)Thank you for producing such incredible and informative videos.

I had a swarm take over a tree on my property, after that I started a year long research adventure watch beekeepers like you and other greats. Thanks for allowing me to learn the way I learn best. I went from 7 too 19 hives that first year. This year I started with a package and a nuc. Now I’m at 9 going into winter. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

My husband and I have been beekeepers since July. Our mentor is the person we purchased our 2 nucs from. We have watched every one of your videos!! In fact we mention you often to our mentor and almost end up mentoring her. 🤣🤣🤣 We would be ecstatic to win one of your bee keeping classes.

This was an excellent video and was such a prop up, but also great advice on many other things we are invested into one way or another. These kinds of videos set you apart from the others. Not over done, just straight forward and sincere. Completely natural and confident delivery that resonates.

Wow, such good life lessons from you and the bees. I call mine by their Ojibwe name, amoog. I learn from them and you. So much to learn from all my mentors. Thanks for the peptalk. Discipline over the bell! Thank you!

I love all of the topics you touch on and this came at a great time. I had to travel to Florida to help my father after his 3rd back surgery. It's been a rough road. Heading back to NY to check on my bees, they are all I've worried about. Thanks for the encouragement.

This is my 6th season. If someone hasn't experienced or felt everything you just talked about, they haven't been in bees long enough. Because all these things will come. Thank you for the very encouraging talk. I needed it.

Hi David so good to see another video. I just had the best morning here in New Zealand we arr still in spring and just got home with 10 new nukes spent 2 hours playing with my new bee's putting them in their new hives finding some very beautiful queens. The best part I didn't have my smoker I decided to use light sugar water in a spray bottle worked out perfectly. Just like to find out how meany people use it to and what do you think about it.
