One night, in a field near Bethlehem, shepherds were watching over their sheep. It was hard work being a shepherd, and not many people wanted to sleep in a field and protect sheep.
The shepherds protected the sheep from big animals or people who could hurt them.

It was very dark, then all of a sudden there was a bright light. An angel appeared to them and said, “Do not be afraid. I'm here to bring you good news for all people. Today in Bethlehem, a baby has been born. He is the one that will save the world.”
The even more angels appeared and praised God.

The Shepherds rushed to Bethlehem to find the baby who would save the world. They found him just as the angels said, inside a manger.
The Shepherds were so amazed that they had met the Savior.

When they left, they wanted everyone to know this exciting news. They told everyone they met this wonderful message.
Everyone was amazed by what they said.
This was a very special night, and a very special Baby had been born.
