I can promise you 99.9% of people will never ever walk into that room and notice whatever imperfections you're worried about on your repair job, however a much, much larger percentage of people WOULD immediately have noticed the large gaping space. Your job looks great. That's a good gain by the numbers. Thank you for the advice🙂

Another tip also, when you have a gap that big you should fill 3/4 of it with that clay filler they sell at hardware stores. They are super cheap. Then you should put wood filler over it. Doing this will give it better uniformity and also give it more stable foundation for the wood filler to mold to...

I have so much respect for you! I’ve been in construction and the handyman business for about 40 years full and part time… and I must say that you did a fantastic job both in your technique and your verbal commentary to describe what you are doing and why! Bravo! No it’s not perfect, but it’s more than most people will try to do! Love and friendship to you! PS, I love your accent btw 😉

THANK YOU!!! Great video! At 71 and single I am doing repairs and a little remodeling on my little RV home. This was exactly what I needed to see. It was the process of filling the space I couldn't picture what to use... thank you problem solves.

I think this is perfectly great! Anyone who comes to your home inspecting to see those small flaws, should not be invited again ☺️

Thank you! I have gaps just like this in several door jams because of previous baseboards being installed improperly. I never would have thought to fill with foam first!

It's really interesting to see the view from inside a house when it's snowing. I've never lived anywhere that it snows. 42 years and I've only seen it snow few times and never stick on the ground. So cool.

This is the most complete fix that i've seen so far. I will follow these steps for a couple of my doors with similar issues.

Thanks for the video Tuba. It helped me a lot! I love your humor with the snow & flower. I'm a perfectionist and I drive myself crazy. Your light heartedness teaches me I don't have to be micromillimeter perfect. And your job looks great! Now I'm off to the coal mines trying to finish off my mess!

Yes, it's a major improvement! I watched this video because I had a similar situation over our Kitchen counter, and you showed me that it could be done. Thanks so much for doing this video! 👍

Read that a couple of others commented on liking the styrofoam idea. Well, I just knew there was a reason I didn’t throw out bits and pieces of packaging styrofoam away! Good job.

This helps... I was tossing between putty & filler and now thanks to your tutorial filler makes so much sense. Cheers

Thank you SO much for this video. I needed to remove the header of a doorway to move bulky furniture. I replaced the header board, but still need to fill the gaps. I'm going to use all of your tricks. Wish me luck!

thank you, I will now go and buy some clay filler and wood filler because I need to fill two casings on my door which I installed to make the large gaps disappear to hide the spacing between the casing to make it look like a seamless joined angle.
thanks again, very good demonstration.

You did an amazing job here. No one would even notice the imperfections

Very well done.... and you can’t even tell it’s imperfection up close... the only criticism I have is when you use painters tape and you use wood filler, caulking, paint, etc. you should score it with a knife first before you pull out that tape or it will peel off something you don’t want damaged.... this job you did tho is really well done. Bravo 👏
