This video discusses the methods for assigning property zones and values during the numerical modeling workflow using Visual MODFLOW Flex. After finalizing the grid structure for your model the next workflow step is the ‘Define Properties’ step. At this stage you can assign cells to new or existing property zones. A number of methods are available for defining these new property zones, and several methods are available for assigning parameter values within newly defined zones. All of these methods are introduced in this video.

Assigning heterogeneous flow parameters is an essential step in the groundwater modeling process, since the sub-surface environment can rarely be described as homogeneous. The methods presented here will allow you to easily and quickly assign cell-by-cell parameter values to better represent your site geology.
