Donating Red Blood Cells. What is a Power Red Donation?

Показать описание
Red blood cells are the most transfused and needed blood component. With a Power Red donation, you can give nearly twice the amount of red cells and help more patients.

This type of donation uses an automated process that separates your red blood cells from the other blood components, and then safely and comfortably returns your plasma and platelets to you.

Power up your next blood donation – give a Power Red.

I’m Onegative, over 60 female. My iron level was 15 when I donated; I was well hydrated.
Just to reassure you who are wondering, I did not feel woozy or wrung out afterward. Day after a donation is always my day to take it easy. I must say, porter red left my energy level feeling about like a 10-day post partum mommy… doing fine, but being mindful not to overdo it, and to rest well/eat well and take my vitamins/iron supplements mindfully.
I’m 48 hours post donation, & enjoyed a nice 25 minute walk outdoors today; followed by a 15 minute doze!
Since I’m over 60 I will wait 6 mos to do a power red donation again.
Hope this recap helps others who are wondering; females in particular!

I’m O+ and always do Power Red. It’s a bit longer but feel better afterward and worth the outcome of donating!

I've donated Power Red four times, in addition to numerous whole blood donations. I live in a remote area so it's far more convenient to only have to donate three times a year versus six. PR leaves you feeling less drained than a typical whole blood donation, though you will feel like something's missing for a few days or a week or so. Be sure to be hydrated, eat healthy meals before and after, and relax at least for the rest of the day after your donation. Giving blood is always worthwhile.

I'm A-, and whenever I'm eligible to donate whole blood is the day I can donate Double Red Cells.
I am planning on doing it when I can do so

I’m O+. I only do power red donations now. Which is cool cuz then the Red Cross leaves you alone for longer and don’t call you. lol
