Some Tips, Advice & Information on Visiting the Isle of Skye, Scotland.
1. Book Your Accommodation & Dinner Reservations Early - The Island gets booked up quickly in the high season so you may need to stay off island in Plockton.
2. Rent a Car - To see all that the Isle of Skye has to offer you must have your own car.
3. Visit the Slate Peninsula
4. Visit Dunvegan Castle.
5. Visit Portree the Capital of the Isle of Skye and Home to the ATM (Cashpoint).
6. Check Out the Waterfalls along the coasts.
7. Visit Kilt Rock - A sheer cliff that looks just like a kilt.
8. The Old Man of Storr - a very phallic looking stone rock.
9. Local Producers: Lots of Wool Weavers and Distilleries.
10. Hiking in the Cullen Hills.
11. Eileen Dolan Castle - From numerous movies and just outside the Isle of Skye.

We love Scotland! And now the Sun is saying Star Wars may film on the Isle of Skye... They might not be the most reliable :) but hey, if it gets more people getting up to Scotland it is worth it. Such a great country and great people too

Actually I thought the commentary on Spain was one of the best ones I did. It was fair, I talked about the good and the bad that tourists need to know and be prepared for. And if you are complaining about my accent in relation to Scottish places I just did my best enjoying the country of my ancestors. Are you Scottish? I would hope you could at least spell as that may explain a few of our misunderstandings you seem to have had with my videos.

Eilaen Donan is pronounced EElan Do nan,   Island of Donan,   and the Cuillan Mountains, other than that you are spot on about the isle of Skye, from fairy pools of crystal clear water in the west to the Quiraing in the north. I love the place

Cleaning your windshield when you're making a video is a great idea. Using one of the many awesome backgrounds would be nice too for when you're speaking, not the barren wasteland as you mentioned. For antiquarian book lovers don't miss Ferguson Rare Books in Skeabost Bridge. And the Skeabost hotel next door is world class. The weather on Skye is some of the fastest changing in the world. Literally. Weather systems arrive with great change daily off the Atlantic. Portree has some of the best smoked salmon in the world. (Especially on the cream cheese bagels!) 70 degrees one day, snow the next, and back to 75 degrees the next.

A most beautiful place indeed, we live in B.C. and I have family in Scotland and any visit has to include a few days in Skye and Bute ( where I was born ).
On two occasions we stayed at the Cuillin Hills Hotel, , simply outstanding and the food there was the best I ever tasted in Scotland.
My wife is Canadian, she has an extensive knowledge of Scottish history and there certainly is no shortage of that on the Isle of Skye, ,, we shall be back this September.

I would advise booking a cottage on waternish point. £560 for a week that sleeps 6 is a great price. Lusta cottage is where we stayed and the views from the poarch were breathtaking

Wolter, great video, thanks for promoting my fav island. There are a few other places worth visiting, Elgol for the spectacular view of the cuillins, the Fairy Pools, the Quiriang, Duntulum castle ruin, catch the ferry to Arisaig, visit Applecross an drive up the bealach na ba the highest road in the UK. This island is a mountaineers dream and a photographers delight especially when the light is right. Haste ye back mate.

We visited the castle in October. We were told the pronunciation is more like E-lon Donan, and that was from guides within the castle.

If you are not too fussy you can stay at a lodge such as "Saucey Mary's" for as little as £19.50 a night shared dorm or for a little more twin rooms are available, it has a restaurant and bar and WI Fi

Why did you pick that noisy place to do your video? This road is the descent to Sconser ferry port and really busy. So many beautiful places you could have used. Why here? I used to live in Skye so I know it very well.
