My husband just had PRK and literally wants to claw his eyes out right now. The recovery for this surgery is NO JOKE. don’t let them downplay the pain following surgery. About 30 minutes after surgery massive swelling, tearing and your nose completely closes up and starts running. No pain killers are helping and he’s got all the heavy stuff on board. Mentally prepare yourself for intense pain and irritation following PRK. We are at 2 hours out right now.

As someone who previously had LASIK and needed an enhancement of for one eye using PRK as it wasn’t recommended to repeat LASIK in the same eye, I would not recommend PRK at all. My recovery time with LASIK was literally one evening of pain, soreness and irritation in both eyes. The next morning when I woke up I felt fine and was able to go about my normal day. Day 2 of PRK enhancement and I feel like gouging my eye out from the irritation and pain, literally feels like a combination of eyelash hair and chilli in my eye! Using various drops, pain relief and numbing drops that work for around 30-45 mins before pain returns! Still waiting for initial 48 hours to pass but feels like the pain will be never ending at this rate!!!

Hi mam iam done 3 months prk surgery but my lift eye is still pain when iam using eye drops it’s relief but start agin quickly pain iam contact my eye doctor he say everything fine but pain is not cure what can I do plss mam reply iam using eye mist eye drop and gentle gel iam contact nemarolosit he also say every fine plss help what can I do when iam wake early morning so relief after 30 mins star pain
