I don't think that I am alone out here. Your take on the books and the grand area of Analysis in math are valuable and appreciated. At the moment, it seems that more people are taking an interest in some type of Modern Analysis by self study than any other area of math, and the bits of info that you weave in and out of the book reports is helpful. Thanks. #7

I'd truly recommend Axler's Measure, Integration and Real Analysis. I can't believe how good that book is!

I watched the youtube video of Mary Rudin on Topology, with much intersection of course with Real Analysis. She had an astounding and comprehensive understanding of the subject, and delivered the lecture in such a warm and humorous way. Is there any more of her stuff available? Anyone else think she was superior to her husband, Walter?

i'm currently reading Terence Tao's "Analysis 1" (third addition) and it's an easy read and is great for beginners

Royden was the first good book long time ago, now 4Ed 2009 it's even better....(cap 3... 6 are a must) But still maybe a bit Repetitive and some theorems given as exercises whiteout solutions
Stein it's better sometimes and sometimes not
Rudin it's different and usefull
Folland too very good like Stein more or less and some sections excellents
By the way are all good and maybe the best books
Zygmund dear its out? Was a great book too
