NY here, on 12.5.4.1,
Tbh, my problem is that it breaks kinda abruptly for red lights a lot of the time, or it suddenly decides not to go through a yellow too late for comfort and breaks much more aggressively than I would like, so not being slow and just creeping up.

Also, yeah the highway is generally pretty good, but there is still some phantom breaking, and it’s very jerky when taking exits especially…

So definitely looking forward to this update branch next week

It’s been usable since v12.3.6 here, somewhat comfortable since v12.5.4; I hope this’ll make it comfortable enough 99% of the time, especially with breaking and on the highway

Thanks for the video. I'm not sure where you live or if you ever get any heavy traffic, but to me that is where I always have problems and want to see the system tested. The system normally handles driving down wide open well-marked streets fairly well. I have a highway merge on my way home from work where it is necessary to zipper in at about 3 mph because of the heavy traffic that is always handled horribly by FSD. The same is true for areas where the traffic is in gridlock on city streets and you need to make sure you are in the correct lane for your next turn really early or be a complete a-hole and cut in at the last minute, signaling and waiting for the traffic to move so you can get into the correct lane.

My observations on this version so far on my Model Y. I still have had phantom braking. There’s no apparent reason for it so it’s probably hallucinating a pedestrian or something. It failed to go on a green light today and brakes too late for red lights sometimes. Driving on highway is amazing. That’s definitely the high point. Off highway is roughly the same as 12.5.4.1 from what I’ve seen so far. Can’t wait for v13!

I love how well the new version closes in on the traffic light and how confidently it turns corners. My big frustration is how slow it drives. Often it is well below the speed limit. At times when traffic is clearly going 5 to 10 mph above the speed limit, FSD is barely going the speed limit. I'm being forced to tap on the accelerator to avoid everyone cutting me off. I miss the old speed setting—it mostly did what I wanted.

at 12:00 before you mentioned your opinion on the stop, I actually cringed at how late and aggressive that brake was. I love a progressive, efficient brake that regens as much as possible. This looked like it waited until the last second and used the friction brakes. I wasn't in the car though so maybe it felt a lot better than it looked.

12.5.4.1 tries to slam on the brakes at almost every green light that I’m going through. Super frustrating and dangerous.

Stuck at 12.5.4.1 on 2023 MYLR for a while now. Wondering if that means I won't get an update until 13 is released. Either way I am good:)! Just watched MARS Catalog 5 minute multi-year view of his experience with FSD. Shows how far FSD has come, as the original had simple line trace blocks for vehicles and other objects. Looks crude, but also cool at the same time:)!

I have this version on 2023 model y and I constantly need to disengage FSD, this version is unstable in the Bay Area both on city streets and highway. The only thing I do appreciate is the lack of my hands being fully gripped on the wheel 100%. Also the FSD almost caused an accident several times and does not work well in merged roads, Golden Gate Bridge and toll booths and the freeways are under construction and the car drives too close to the left when in the commute lane. Very aggressive braking for no reason especially in Walnut Creek coming from Lafayette to Danville, FSD wants to slam on the breaks and no car is around… still not usable

Thanks for the video. Wasn't clear if you know the highway uses the 3 speed settings (chill, standard, hurry) but city/streets do not. That is why those values only showed on the display when you got on the highway. Tesla has said they will be adding similar speed controls to city/streets.

One thing I've quickly learned about using FSD: Never turn it on to a destination when there's an optional route you're not intending that's coming up quickly. I've made this mistake twice, and it immediately cut across the entire freeway to make the exit it wanted to take.

I have had 12.5.6.1 in a hardware 4 model X. Deficiency is that bother me the most are it failure to recognize school zones, cannot drive to my straight address, but instead turns down the side street to my house, which is on a corner lot and will not adhere to 15 MPH posted speed limits. It also does not recognize lighted traffic control signs restricting turns at intersections. I use FSD. I’m nearly every drive every day looking forward to V13

I’ve had 12.5.6.1 for a while now and there is still a big problem with unnecessary lane changes both on highway and on city streets. For me the unnecessary lane changes are the biggest problems while using FSD.
