So… fun fact about my experience:

When I first played Sonic Frontiers, I didn’t really understand that parrying didn’t require timing. I just dodged every attack thrown my way. So when I fought WYVERN, I kept Game Overing from Ring loss because I kept trying to press parry every time it took a swing at me. Eventually I managed to overcome it this way, and learning I could’ve just held down LR… felt like a joke at my expense.

So then this update dropped, and it confirmed that yes: I am being actively trolled.

A sin you missed:
At the end of Rhea Island Sage didn't calculate the odds of Sonic and Eggman working together (since the latter didn't authorise it), but at the beginning of Another Story Sage mentions the story's scenario as one calculation she dismissed... even though it relies on Sonic and Eggman working together.

I guess it addresses the issue of "why didn't Sage just immediately undo the corruption" but puts a new issue in its place.

I feel like the ending was kinda similar to the finale of Sonic X, in a way of "Shooting super sonic out of a giant gun into a big bad space rock or whatever". And judging by how many homages this game has, I wouldn't be surprised if it were intentional

The snake's and dragon's trials were insanely difficult for no reason. And you're Wyvern rant perfectly sums up my feelings about that frustration incarnate challenge. But other than those, I really like this DLC. It's fun to play as Sonic's friends, especially Tails in the Cyclone.

Another detail about 4-G is that since you're reving an engine, the spindash is more or less treated as "over revving". Boosting to gain speed over time will never cause an over rev, so you'll never blow up from going too fast, where as spindashing for too long causes sonic to "over rev" and explode.
I think it's pretty clear with stuff like the Rocket Boost, "Engine Boost" (what I've been calling the gear shift boost mechanic) and the new level design that they're experimenting BIG TIME to see what should and should not be done in the next game. I think with refinement, the Engine Boost could be REALLY good, encouraging skilled play and keeping "momentum" by keeping your speed up and avoiding walls. It's a neat way of encouraging skilled play and stopping the boost from being the "stop and start" button. I like it.

Honestly, one more sin is that the game DOES tell you how to fight The Supreme End, but it only unlocks information by upgrading every character, collecting everything on the island, defeating every Guardian, and completing every single Cyberspace challenge.



Eh, I still loved this update despite it's flaws.

Tip for you all if your stuck in master kings trials or had a hard time with it: Just cross slash and stomp always, also on knight just doge when you get hit with the spikes or boost

11:25 honestly, it could be dumb but I love it, it gives the interactions from Eggman and Tails from SA2, Eggman sees Sonic as inferior but always sees Tails as an equal or slightly less, it’s very touchy especially because Eggman sees intelligence as more important than talent.

The Wyvern Rant was... I FELT THAT. It was really stinking hard, but once I was in a call with friends, I managed to get through it with their guidance! What's MOST annoying about having to use the Perfect Parry against the Titans, is that they _weren't designed with the perfect parry in mind_ so NONE of their attacks are well telegraphed to help you know the right timing. And on EASY MODE (the mode that makes climbing the towers trivial) its _still_ really freaking hard!
