I live in a mountainous area with some steep inclines and definitely run a front brake. It helps reduce rear tire wear since you can avoid skidding (brake pads cost less than a new tire) and helps if you have to come to an emergency stop. Unless you're doing bar spins there's no disadvantage to running one.

It's illegal where I live to ride with out a brake, the law states bikes must have a rear brake .

I don't do brakes my brakes are my pedal not my fingers my hands and fingers are focused on the drop bar my legs are focused on pedalling fast and brake with pedal brakes are for beginners 😂
