As you say, there are millions of fantastic travel destinations to choose from. For us (husband & me), we just don't go to places that don't want us the way we are. That includes not only foreign destinations, but also places here in the US or even in our hometown (think conservative RC or fundamentalist churches). So, we skip the wedding and go to the reception. Professionally, I routinely turn down work in countries where I'm not welcome. We know we're never going to get to all the places we'd like to visit, so we just start by eliminating the ones who don't want us. It's been working just fine for over 50 years.

Good show and definitely advice people need to consider. I’m also glad you mentioned that you two were having a tiff at the restaurant. My partner and I had been in that situation before as well.
Take a look into self driving tours of Scandinavia. I visited four countries, and it was great. Hotels, reservations, routes and car were all taken care of and you make the drive from country to country in your own time.

You make a very good point. Another place, close to home, where it’s illegal to be gay, is Belize. A lot of gay people travel there, when they could be safe in Costa Rica, instead.
Like you, I don’t travel where I’m illegal.

Great video. I always enjoy getting your perspective. It is a sad but realistic fact that we cant always be who we are. I tend to avoid anywhere that isnt accepting but certainly support those who feel otherwise. Just be cautious and safe and have a great time. Love you guys.

Considering current events, I believe you need to make a part two, and discuss the perils of travel in the U.S. Socially accepted homophobia and many newly-enacted state laws are creating very real dangers for gays, especially couples. Stay safe.

The canary islands, lanzarote and gran canaria in particular are great and very friendly places to go, also Berlin is a must see city to travel too, great vibe, energy and fun. The people in both these locations make the holidays so much more worth the visit with deeply fond memories. XX, G
