Thank you so much- this worked the first time I used this method yesterday. I could not believe it. I had used bleach, I used vinegar and it worked for 15 minutes and the smell was back. I really appreciate you posting this video. I had not placed any food directly in the garbage disposal. However, I was cleaning an oven, stovetop, and very greasy hood top and greasy fan in the hood top above the stove. Just all that grease left over the weekend. When I returned to the empty condo to finish the job, the smell hit you when you opened the front door like an old dirty wet rag hidden somewhere. This method got rid of the smell right away. with these low-end ones that typically rust within the first year of use they don't do the citrus thing very well it also really doesn't "Clean" anything so, it's fine to throw it down there but, no it won't clean it so the orange dawn or Palmolive is a good idea if all you're doing is getting rid of pesky rot

I just fill the sink up with hot soapy water then turn it on and let it drain
