This is a method on how to remove a bios password on a Dell Latitude E7270 and E7470. The process will be the same on both, and is very straightforward. I am not sure if this method was discovered or not in the past, I actually was tinkering around in the bios, and found that their is a very simple way. This process will actually work with any Dell Latitude machine that is older, HOWEVER, the E7270/E7470 machines require an extra step to unlock it.

Used this solution today and still going strong. Note: I used lower case and got a different code so make sure to use UPPER CASE when entering the code. Thanks again man - life saver. Cheers

You have been assigned the 995th "LIKE" for a video that gets STRAIGHT to the POINT! You saved a "DELL Latitude E7470" which my Dad trashpicked recently. It was UEFI/BIOS-Locked, yet thankfully not Admin-locked, so your instructions lead it to a new lease on life! Excellent!!

Perfect! I just bought a second hand laptop E7270 and just found out BIOS was locked. This worked so well! As said in the comments, THE BIOS KEYBOARD IS IN QWERTY !!

Thanks, the CTRL + Enter + Enter was really necessary.

Info for European users: the bios keyboard layout is QWERTY and not e.g. QWERTZ. Keep this in mind when entering the password.

Just tried it on my Latitude E7470, and it worked. Thank you so much. I used the “Dell from serial number” codes, there will be two lines of code, initially I thought they were one big line line, but actually they are two different codes, I used the first top option. I tried about 5 times, and finally got it right.

This also worked for my Latitude 7390 but I only needed to press CTRL+Enter to validate the password and regain access to the BIOS
