He has the free SDK for developing, it includes an emulator and ROM image, just like previous SDK's for previous Windows phones.

Get a clue.

I am running it on Windows 8 with a Samsung Slate. The emulator is the Windows Phone 8 SDK.

I agree with you, but my argument was on your statement about " And btw unlike JB, all WP devices get updates." an update to 7.8 is not really like going to WP8. At least the high end models on android will get JB and im pretty sure through xda, a lot more. None of the current WP will go to WP8. And what "scares" me with WP is this uncertainty. Who can tell me that the future WP8 devices will upgrade to WP9.

you can with an app, for example in WP 7.5 you can customize most primary tiles like IE, or Messaging and People with Wiztiles, or put a cut of a picture on each tile to complete a whole picture...

Amazing new start screen, Multiple core support, different/higher screen resolutions, SD card support, NFC Support, IE 10, brand new Apps with more capabilities and their built for business (Enterprise capabilities such as encryption, app management and Company Hub) and obviously new hardware :) This is update is just great! Having another Mango update moment here :P but more excited

You have to install Windows Phone 8 SDK. The one shown here is a leaked version. Final version is still pending.

I think I read somewhere that you will be transferred to the xbox music streaming at no extra cost but don't quote me on that.

@stipe1906
The ME tile and everytime you but in the start screen IS your notification center. Each will show a counter to state how many items you missed/have. Or they will flip to show you a little bit of the update, like it does with a tile of your friends.

in the music/video interface can you actually skip categories (songs/artists/albums) as you swipe from left to right/vice versa? It looks tedious if it's always one by one before i get to the desired place

Imagine the Lumia 800 with better specs, maybe a front facing camera (does anyone actually use it?) with a PureView camera and windows phone 8. That would be THE winner phone for the coming years, it would kill all the competition.

In the settings, there was a option to change the background. Does that mean Windows Phone will allow custom backgrounds now?

But there is a difference in this case. WP8 didn't come to existing phone not because they didn't have the horsepower, it is because they weren't designed to run NT based softwares. WP8 is not an update, it's a beginning of whole new generation of phones. CE based phones got uniform updates like 7.5 and 7.8. In case of android, I'll have to buy the costly high-end phones to enjoy the elite features. JB came to high-end phones only, but WP8 is coming to new phones.

I bet you haven't seen it. Wallpapers don't have to be so detailed, simple walls look terrific with tiles.

what device are you running the emulator on?
what emulator are you using?
Is the device on windows8?

it's much smoother than android emulators

Yes, it's Windows 8, you can see at the beginning that there's no Start button.
