In this #shorts video I'll show you how you can fix wrong week numbers in Microsoft Outlook. You can easily add week numbers to your Outlook Calendar. But there are different week numbering systems used in different countries or regions. I'll show you how you can configure your Outlook settings properly to reflect your system.

In my life, I've never needed to schedule a meeting on week number, and based on this cute skit, I would never want to. Imagine if every time you scheduled a meeting on week number the first thing you had to do was negotiate what week number standard to use. Better to just agree to meet on Wednesday the 23rd of June at 6pm. You still have to agree on time zone, but that's normal and expected.

The way we do it is: use a relative reference like: “in the week of Monday dd(/mm)”. In this way you can’t go wrong and don’t need a an ISO8601.

I've never heard of anyone scheduling something based on what week number it is in the year. "Let's talk next week" -- fine. "Let's talk in two weeks" -- okay. "Let's talk in week 39" -- what??

Great tip, our business uses work weeks for everything, so I have printed my own cheat cheep calendar to keep it aligned. This is a great idea! I didn't know you could change the setting. Thanks!

I've been frustrated with week numbers in excel, tables that run multiple years, week numbers that go to 54 and start I told my kids that not only are you leap year birthdays that saves me gifts 3 out of 4 years, Christmas only comes once in every few as well. :)

It would be very rare to use week numbers to set appointments in Canada, although perhaps some companies do it internally. But if we did, the official proper settings would be:

First day of week: Sunday
First week of year: Starts on Jan 1
The same as USA, Australia, NZ, and some other countries. But countries headquartered in Europe may have told their branches here to use ISO numbering, so you can never be certain. So strictly avoid booking appointments by week numbers.

But in this tutorial, there is no red cell out for the third option "First full week"; is it also for Europe?

I have this problem on an excel sheet using Weeknum then -1 in the formula, because Weeknum was pulling a week ahead. Now, I get -1 in all the blank rows. Is there a cleaner method of fixing this in excel.?

I don't like people that use week number, is confusing, I have to go back to the calendar to count which week they mean. Shipment is delayed to week 35, why not just give me an extra date.
