Premiere is more CPU dependent than GPU. GPU steps in for render acceleration, lumetri / transitions / noise reduction, but if anyone with a budget has to choose between spending more on one or the other, CPU should be the priority, especially when it comes to H.264/5. The i9-9900K is the lead enthusiast / workhorse grade CPU before moving to the LGA 2066 socket size, at least for Intel. AMD is also putting out great CPUs like the 3900x, if you prefer AMD. But it's not 100% necessary to go that big for a majority of users. The i5-9600K and 3600x will still provide great speed for cheaper. Another benefit would be to use an SSD as your working drive. Keep mass storage on HDD's, but if you are working off an SSD, there will be a noticeable increase in playback stability and render times.

Best thing I ever did for performance was switch from Premiere to Windows Movie Maker. It has amazing 3D flip transitions.

I have missed you guys and I am SO excited you are still hyper active on YouTube. I logged into my old account and yelled FILM RIOT when I saw my subscriptions list. I have been a fan since 2012 but backslide when I changed my email, shame. Mail Sack and Monday Challenge days!! Feeling nostalgic rn.

A lot of simple important information left out in this video. Should of started with the CPU as it's the most important. Very few people would need a 2080Ti to edit videos. Editing off separate, fast NVME SSD's & transcoding your footage to Prores or DNxHD format is probably the cheapest, simplest way to almost double the speed of premiere in any system. Parker Gibbons had some good tips though.

One question I have always had: Where did you get that old clip with the guy who says "Perverted" and in this one says "This is true"

First thing you can change that is probably the cheapest is the drive you are editing from. Even if you are on an SSD, not all SSDs are equal in speed. THEN, if you are using premiere pro, I would change the CPU before the GPU.

I love the mini interludes you throw in randomly to emphasize a point.

Cpu is much more important than gpu. A 1050 ti or 1650 is a decent card. The performance gain over a titan or 2018 ti is not worth it for premiere. In my opinion

use ssd to store all your project files. After the project is completed you can offload that to hard drive or to any backup drive.

Because it was there! :-)

Which actually brings us to another subject: name your project files wisely. In a week or a month you'll thank your younger self for it :-)
