Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Hongqi E-HS9 2025

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.

A series of pedestrian tests is also conducted using different impactors, including adult and child head forms, as well as lower and upper leg forms. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023, a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.

Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking, car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction, and impairment), lane support, and speed assistance technologies.

1:11 It's so funny to see what happened to sunroof panels under the side impact. SAFE to say, that glass panels could bring damage to someone outside a car.

I'm really quite shocked to see yet another round of large luxury cars tested by Euro NCAP. Surprise surprise, they all get five stars. Of course they do. Euro NCAP is seriously letting down the ordinary motorist who needs the information from these tests to decide what to buy and what NOT to buy. I'm starting to think that NCAP testers enjoy playing with luxury cars a bit too much. Please test mainstream cars in a timely manner. You must test the Citroën ë-C3, the Vauxhall Frontera, the Fiat Grande Panda, the Hyundai Inster, the Leapmotor T03, the Kia EV-3, etc etc. Don't waste your time on luxury cars whose safety credentials are not in doubt. Very disappointed.
