I was a huge fan of the original and was completely crushed when it was cancelled. I have managed somehow to enjoy 2 episodes so far. But Quantum Leap as a team show with nothing but member berries and mystery boxes to string you along was never going to work.

So the original creator of the show quantum leap has approved this show and is in charge of production of the new show

I am a big fan of the Original quantum leap. This new Quantum leap has No Waiting room, & the so called future looks like plain present times. If you just watch the original series you will see their future actually looks like a future with advanced technology. Things glowing every which of way.
The Imaging chamber looked crazy futuristic. I am just saying the original series had a soul to it.

I didn't like the first episode but I didn't hate it so I kept watching and honestly it got better with every episode and I truly enjoy the show I hope it doesn't get cancelled I'd really like to see a second season I think the show has potential hoping to get more

They made a mistake in casting the leads. Either one is probably fine with a different actor playing the opposing lead role, but together their chemistry is a big zero. I give Raymond Lee the edge though. He's a bit better suited for the show. Just IMO.

I do like the show, but it may be more of the nostalgia tie ins to the original. And im definitely not one of the people yelling at you in the comments! I get your criticism, but im just glad to see it back, and i think if it is around longer it will get better.

This aged poorly. It got a season 2. Live viewership numbers haven't been great, but the streaming numbers are saving it. It really is not a terrible show in my opinion. Not perfect but I find it entertaining and watchable.

I loved the original series, it was able to tackle heavy issues in a way that felt natural. I'm still watching the new series, it started of rocky, very rocky, and it is slipping into something that I'm sure the writers of the new series wanted to take the show. For me the problem with the show is that it doesn't tackle big issues in a way that's natural and as you said, it's been focused on the "overall arc" and spectacle than the leaps themselves. I am okay with the casting choices, I think the cast is doing the best they can with what they have. That said the writing and scene structure has been lacking. There have been a few instances where story payoff came before setup, and the word choices for the technobabble didn't match the context of the scene. Am I someone wishing this show was canceled? No. Because for me at least, it's made me appreciate the original series more, and I'm somewhat an optimist, hoping that perhaps they will iron out the issues I have with the series. Finally if this new show gets a few people interested in the original series that would be nice, much like a song remix can get people listening to and enjoying the original work more than the remix.

For me. Its like a two years ago when they started Law and Order Organized Crime with an arch. That (with Law and Order OC) im not sure if a season long arch fits it well. I don't object there being a season long arch. Maybe if they had it set up where half the season is focused on the leap and Ben gets somehow brought back by something. Then there is an off episode where it focuses on the characters where it doesn't push the plot further. Then the last several episodes teased during the first half of the season to figure out whats happening.

I’ve tuned in 5 out of 6 episodes and the show refuses to get better. They have very superficial characters within the leap. The lead and the co-lead have zero chemistry. And the Romance angle is so corny . The Present day story steals from fleshing out the leap. It has lost over 1.3 million viewers since the premiere.

I am waiting for the show increase quality, it has a lot to offer so hope it will. The directing and actors are a mess but let's fingers crossed...

I I heard that Donald p basala the original creator of quantum leap refuse to let them do to show not unless they did it in this manner so he can be executive producer of the show

The only thing I hated about this Quantum Leap was the Political Wokeness they pushed over the storyline. They worried more about getting political correctness injected than they did about building great episodes.
