This video is almost a year old, but I will say that just as another comment said, you didn't answer the question. If a beginner is asking how much Javascript is needed, then they are not asking, "In addition to the years of experience I have with PHP, MySQL, etc... how much Javascript will I need to learn." What they are asking is "How in depth with Javascript will I have to go in order to get a job?" Like what libraries are necessary if any...what sort of skills in Javascript will I need over the basic use of functions, objects, arrays, etc..

I think it's important to specify how much you need as in an actual tangible amount. You should know es6 and at least 1 framework (React, Vue, Angular) but you just really need to build things and apply those skills in a meaningful way that can result in you having the ability to build or at least see yourself being able to handle most projects.

I'm pretty sure you did not answered the man's question. If he is a beginner he wants to know how deep he needs to go with learning JS ( his first programming language ).
Or its just me ?
I did not expect the video to talk about back-end. I'm sure that C++ developers don't need to know JS, but is that the question tho? :D
Still like you videos, its the fist videos I look first thing in the morning, keep up the good work

I used to keep asking how much x, y, z do i need to know. I think its more like at some point you'll just know how much you need as you work on your personal projects. Im at a point where i don't need to spend set time studying css because i have the basics and my projects dont require anything more. I expect with JS it'll be the same way. A lot of junior dev positions ask for frameworks so i know learning es6 and a framework would help. But my friend got a job without knowing a framework, the employer asked him to make something something with vue, he figured it out and got hired. He might have got lucky but he also had actual projects with regular JS and worked with an actual client. So I think the projects in your portfolio are more important.
