Why not all 20 pcie gen 5 lanes as you can select the gen in bios i have the 13900k and asus z690 maximus extreme but when the m. 2 gen 5 sdd will be out then i will have run the gpu on x8 lanes because using the top m.2 gen 5 pcie slot will decrease the the lanes from x16 to x8 because of not having enough lanes

Where is the companion pcie5 GPU? Do we have to wait for a consumer version of Xe-HPC?

Hi, I recently bought a Ryzen 7 5750G APU to play games, but I found out something later that makes me worried, the APU has 12 PCIe lanes, if I buy an RX 6700 XT that has 16 PCIe lanes will performance decrease a lot? how does it work? I think I made a mistake

Why only 16 lanes for pcie gen 5 it doesn't make sense as m.2 ssd will be out if we use 4 pcie gen 5 lanes then gpu will have to use 8x whether it is gen 5 or gen 4 doesn't matter and you guys have left motherboard vendors with no option. Why intel?

Sapphire Rapids has CXL master on pcie5 ... something like 80 lanes, right? Can we get miniature CXL slave desktop chip PCIE5 CPU cards and use them via dpc++? That would create long-term customer loyalty, with the ability to add lower cost slave cpu cards as needed instead of replacing the master. Does Intel even think about these kind of solutions?

My question is will it did any damage to motherboard?
