And this is why I go nowhere with large crowds and nowhere around or after dark. And it’s not even just Philly anymore, it’s America in general.

I was there with my 2 daughters.. ppl didn’t even know what they were running for trampling other people, I came across a few lost crying children I had to saddle them up and drop them off to the closest police officer.. It was definitely crazy out there..

And people can't understand WHY cops often are ready to shoot if they even think there's a reason to shoot.

It was scary I was there and we and my family were so scared everyone was screaming and people were screaming the family members names I feel so bad for the people who couldn’t find their family I’m so glad me and my family got out alive

We are living in the last days. People have no respect for law enforcement or themselves. These are praying times!

I have a lot of family (cousins) in Philly, but it's rare that I see them because of the violence there. It's awful!

Suspect home watching it on the news, like everyone else

Keep violent criminals behind bars with longer sentences and things like this can be avoided. People need to stop reimagining criminal reform and start giving out harsher sentences.

As a native Philadelphian, I have been to the Welcome America festival since 2004 celebrating the 4th of July (with the exception of 2020 which went virtual). Last night was not the first time this kind of incident I have ever experienced. I recall that me and other partygoers (at the festival) ran for our lives back in 2013 and 2014 when that kind of incident (like last night) struck. I’m glad this year metal detectors were a welcome addition. For other outdoor events (like Made In America) and for future 4th of July festivals (as in: next year) throughout the USA, I say also add security (like search in the bags upon entry) for those entering any building (front doors, side doors, back doors, and even ladders to any rooftops). Remember what happened at the Las Vegas concert (back in 2017) and in the Chicago area (just yesterday).
