They would rather throw the car away than sell it to you for a decent price …. Maybe not lol but it seems that way

The best negotiating tool I have found over the years is GET UP AND WALK OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP!!!! Just mention to them that “it is obvious by your offer that you want this vehicle in your inventory more than I want it in my garage” --- Find another dealer.

Gotta love it. They'll take a 40% loss at auction, but won't sell it to you at a 30% loss. Amazing.

These dealers deserve to go out of business. Most of them are common thieves. Don’t feel sorry for them whatsoever.

Finance a 70k vehicle for 72-84 months? When they offer a 10 year 500, 00 mile bumper to bumper warranty or hell freezes over.

We do not need car prices to go down 10%. We need them to go down 40-50%.

I think the bigger issue is with new car dealers leaving the sticker in the window at MSRP, along with any additional mark-up stickers. When a truck that cost 35k 10 years ago has a sticker of $80k a discount of or incentive of less than 10% isn't moving the needle. The dealers and manufacturers need serious price reductions. 10 or 15 k has not been moving the needle much for the Gladiator.

It's not inflation, it's the greed of raising prices to increase profit margins. Look at how much Jeeps have gone up.

My local dealer got mad at me. They had a “ big April sale” going on and was trying to get me in there. The funny part was the quote they sent had me paying $200 more a month. I politely said no thanks and that I would wait a few months, the market is way off for me to willingly jump into a higher payment, I’d come back when prices came down, salesman asked why I thought prices would come down and I said, that lot out there full of 23 models 😂, he said we are good and you’ll be back. I said “ not anytime soon, I don’t have to buy a car to survive but you have to sell them to survive. His smile melted away. These guys are still living off the high of the 2020 shit show imo and way out of touch with reality.

What a situation we find ourself in. Dealers call 22 models new when they are are over 2 years old. My truck is over 7 years old and it still runs great. I do not need a new vehicle.

Just had the experience today. Used Saturn Sky, they want 13, 900. My credit union valued it worth 9200 and that was the max they would loan on it. Dealer wouldn’t budge one dollar. So I told them good luck, they’re going to need it.

Both local dodge dealers here owned by the same family. 25 to 50k "market adjustment" on all of them, they outright refuse to do business with anyone unwilling to pay. I've bought about 6 cars over the last 10 years from them. Over 800 credit score. They won't work with me.

why waste time haggling with a stubborn dealer over a vehicle ... they won't lower the price? let them drown ... keep your car ., don't cave in cuz you want a new car ... let them close .. they don't give a damned anyway.

Buying a new car is the same as younger people trying to buy a new house. It is just financially impossible for most Americans at the current prices

The price of new cars and trucks is NOT unreasonable considering how much the dollar has been devalued by the goobermint. When I was graduating HS in 1975 a brand new PU truck cost 5k for a work truck. A really luxurious truck was about 10-12k. The price of gas was 49 cents/gal. There has been at least a 10X reduction in the value of the dollar since then. So now your bottom line work truck is 40-50k and the luxury ones are 100k, gas is about $4-5/gal- more in cali-fd-up. People's perception has just not stayed in pace with this reality since this happened in such a short time.

Ive been looking for a truck in the Houston area, every dealer with the exception of a couple all have those addendum stickers in the window. 2-3k extra for some BS wax job and nitrogen which they will not negotiate on. Its such a scam, I cant believe people actually pay for that shit.

I bought a new ‘23 Ram Big Horn Hemi Equip Gr-1 on 3-22-24 with a MSRP of $61k for $49, 329 OTD. Bought near Kalamazoo MI.

I visited four different dealers in two states.

I did use the 1st Responder and Employee Choice incentive. I’ve been looking since September, watching Brandon and the Car Edge channel was helpful.

In many cases people selling houses can’t lower the price to sell the house because they can’t sell the house without clearing the mortgage. I wonder what happens to the inventory if a new car dealer goes out of business.

Dealers are def struggling. Especially Dodge / Ram / Jeep. I can tell because I inquired about a TRX about 6 months ago and heard nothing. Now I have had multiple sales people calling me 3 times in the last week.
