The 'Seventhday Adventist Church Holds 40 Days of Prayer Before the GC Session ' (May 6, 2022 YouTube) and in the first 2 minutes of the video they ask everyone to pray for 40 days straight to the 'HOLY SPIRIT' and they claim only 'HE' can do for them what they are requesting. So I guess they think that the Father and the Son aren't up to the task.

Today, we all know that the word PERSON refers to an individual. An individual is someone composed of a physical form that we can recognize by sight and one who also possesses a non-physical entity, the spirit, which we recognize to be the person, personality, or character of that individual. *THIS HAS NOT ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE.*


The word, “person” has had different meanings over the course of time. The New World Encyclopedia notes, “Tertullian started to use the expression of ‘three persons’ (tres personae in Latin). The Latin word persona in the days of Tertullian never meant a self-conscious individual person, which is what is usually meant by the modern English word ‘person.’ In those days, it only meant legal ownership or a mask used at the theater. Thus three distinct persons are still of one substance (una substantia in Latin). It was in this context that Tertullian also used the word trinitas” (key word “Trinity”). In the Trinity doctrine, a “person” is like a personality or “mask.”

It is completely misleading to read into the Bible a literal third person, the Holy Spirit.

James Strong [compiler of Strong’s Concordance], says “Towards the end of the 1st century, and during the 2nd, many learned men came over both from Judaism and paganism to Christianity. These brought with them into the Christian schools of theology their Platonic ideas and phraseology. – Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature, vol. 10


“The OT [Old Testament] clearly does not envisage God’s spirit as a person… God’s spirit is simply God’s power. If it is sometimes represented as being distinct from God, it is because the breath of Yahweh acts exteriorly… The majority of NT [New Testament] texts reveal God’s spirit as something, not someone; this is especially seen in the parallelism between the spirit and the power of God” (1965, Vol. 13, “Spirit of God, ” pp. 574-576).

“The church of Rome having been conscious of their errors and corruptions, both in faith and manners, have sundry times pretended reformation; yet their great pride and infinite profit, arising from purgatory, pardons, and such like, hath hindered all such reformations. Therefore, to maintain their greatness, errors, and new articles of faith, 1. They have corrupted many of the ancient fathers and reprinting them, make them speak as they would have them… . 2. They have written many books in the names of these ancient writers, and forged many decrees, canons, and councils, to bear false witness to them.” Christianography, part ii. P.59, London, 1636.

RCC says, *"The OT [Old Testament] clearly does not envisage God's spirit as a person, neither in the strictly philosophical sense, nor in the Semitic sense.* God's spirit is simply God's Power. If it is sometimes represented as being distinct from God, it is because the breath of Yahweh acts exteriorly (Isa. 48:16; 63:11; 32:15)." So say the authors of the New Catholic Encyclopedia.
Additionally, they say, *"When a quasi-personal activity is ascribed to God's spirit, * e.g., speaking, hindering, desiring, dwelling (Acts 8:29; 16:7; Rom. 8:9), *one is not justified in concluding immediately that in these passages God's spirit is regarded as a Person; the same expressions are used in regard to rhetorically personified things or abstract ideas (see Rom. 6:6; **7:17**). Thus the context of the phrase 'blasphemy against the spirit' (Mt. 12:31; cf. Mt. **12:28**; Luke 11:20) shows that reference is being made to the power of God"* - (New Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. XIII, p. 575).

So, we know that the Trinity doctrine did NOT exist before 200 AD.
It was about 225 years “after” the death of the Apostles that the Nicene Council (325 AD) under the pressure of Emperor Constantine ruled in favor of Athanasius who taught a 3 in 1 god.


Here is the punchline: *"The third Person was asserted at a Council of Alexandria in 362...and finally by the Council of Constantinople of 381"* - A Catholic Dictionary, p. 812.

The Trinity doctrine was now fully established as we know it today.
So, the Trinity doctrine is a manmade doctrine from the Catholic Church which was formed in two parts.


*SDA acknowledged that the Trinity Doctrine is unscriptural.*

*Where though in Scripture can be found such an idea? The answer is, it cannot be found. This is because it is not there. It is purely supposition (philosophical speculation). This is why the trinity doctrine is only an assumed doctrine.* This is even duly recognized in our own denominational handbook of theology: *“The concept of the Trinity, namely the IDEA THAT THE THREE ARE ONE, IS NOT EXPLICITLY STATED BUT ONLY ASSUMED.”* — Fernando L. Canale, The Handbook of Seventh-day Adventist Theology, *Seventh-day Adventist Encyclopaedia, Volume 12, page 138, * ‘Doctrine of God’

In a recent book on the Trinity, Catholic theologian Karl Rahner recognizes that theologians in the past have been *"...embarrassed by the simple fact that in reality the Scriptures do not explicitly present a doctrine of the 'imminent' Trinity* (even John's prologue is no such doctrine)" (The Trinity, p. 22). (Author's emphasis.)

There are instances in English translations of the Bible where the pronouns ‘He’ and ‘His’ are used to refer to the Holy Spirit, *these are matters of grammar and translation, and NOT of biblical theology.*

The translators of the King James Bible carried this grammatical arrangement over into the English in a number of places, such as John 14:16. Thus, in the English translation, the Holy Spirit is referred to as ‘He.’ However, this is no more evidence that the Holy Spirit is a person than the use, in Spanish, of the feminine pronoun ella [she] to refer to a door is evidence that a door is a female person. When grammatical gender is confused with physical gender, the Holy Spirit is then thought of as male, female or neither.

You cannot lie to an inanimate object - Book of Acts clearly equates the Holy Spirit is God... Acts 5:3-4: Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3), then states He lied to God (5:4).
