I know exactly who you are talking about . As a new shop owner there is so much nonsense out there . I appreciate your honesty

As one who went without a sale for the first three months and now beginning to grow in POD by focusing on a niche I really appreciate your channel. You folks are honest about running this as a business and requires the right attention and investment. Thank you.

I've done her course and it's fabulous. I stand by her advice of serving a customer persona rather than a niche and working on increasing the LTV of the customer. Funny thing is a lot of what you were say for people to do are the exact reasons why she says focus on customer first, niche second.
Each to their own 😊

I agree, as an Etsy customer who buys beads & findings, I want the stores I buy from to focus on Jewelry components & not sell Halloweens costume or unrelated items. Also, if I happy with the products & customer service I will return to the same store to buy again.

The whole thing is a nightmare, with so many people claiming to be experts or consultants regarding Etsy. Who do you trust or believe, as everyone seems genuine?

I've been turned off by so called "gurus" who just want to sell a course. I stopped doing "master classes" and webinars that's just one big infomercial.

LOL is this the person who never fails to mention that she used to work for Zappos and how she has an ecommerce degree?

Ive had a shop for 13 years, in the old days, We were like at department store and lots of niches lots of things, but I did start out as a baby shop doing baby stuff and embroidery, toys stuff like that. I really feel niches are better for people who do print on demand staff high volume. They’re not involved in doing much of just a quick design and then sending it off to print on demand to me that is not what Etsy started to out to be. It was a hand crafter it’s all about how much money you can make now people need to support themselves frankly I don’t, but I do have a ton of equipment and use it to make all handmade stuff. My niches now our cruise ship decorations, personalize embroidery items for babies and gifts for women. I would like to see you do some talks on people who actually do hands-on creating of their own items and this can also benefit an Etsy shop and instead of just pointing everything towards print on demand

I also think that it's not just picking a niche. You need to KNOW that niche! And you can't decide.. hey, I'm gonna make this thing because it sells! You need to know about it to help the customer and make it quality... THAT is what makes you stand out in a flooded market. That is what builds the trust and the trust builds the brand. Just my opinion.

hmmm ok. I built my store on No Ads. so I don't totally agree with that one. And yeh I get it not just selling everything but relevant products

I have an idea of who you are talking about. On another note can you please clarify whether you are allowed to ask buyers to join mailing list on Etsy messages? I saw somewhere recently that you can't do that

Can you make a video specifically for pre existing successful businesses (a business that has been locally successful for 20+ years) on getting started with platforms like etsy?

Detailing unique approaches like maybe the inclusion of a listing image highlighting already established long term success.

Yep. Good video. First of all as a 10+ seller I should not have to resort to videos to see what the heck is going on with Etsy sales. But I came here to see if others are experiencing what I have been experiencing. Anyway, there are a ton of videos and I find these guys are great. But let me tell you after after watching other videos of others, saying to do stuff and one hour posting a video saying not to do what they just said to it has completely burned myself out. I haven't had a problem over the last ten years until this so, yeah, I should not be listening to most vids. lol. How to make 500k per month as the lead yeah folks are gonna click on that. Hence they make money whether it's correct information or not.

I had to take all my Barbies off my site and now I only have a few dolls I did repaints on. I am not even feeling safe to post any item that is vintage toys at this point. If they contact you too much they will just close your shop forever. Its better safe than sorry.

I was so excited to start an ETSY shop. But all of these videos and an 9 if the changes ETSY has made recently has made it very clear that a new person will not be successful if they are doing print on demand. It's really sad. If sounds like Hunger Games.

SO I did a call with a person on the team of the guru you were talking about and it was mentioned that my brand needs alot of work. I took me forever to research a brand and all the components. Do you know of any good resources to learn more about how to make a good brand?

How many Stanley cups and printed hoodies do people need? At some point in the very near future, people are going to realize that they have enough of that junk and that’s what it is. Etsy is supposed to be for handmade artisan goods. Not Walmart Crap.

Nobody giving free advice on YouTube is a real business person, their business is selling courses and digitals on YouTube. Period 🙄
