Oh wow, my first instinct was to use IG to drive traffic to my Etsy shop, and use Youtube to also drive the traffic. I'm so glad you are setting the record straight! That piece of information alone will save me much frustration. I use IG mostly as my personal journal but more and more I've been feeling pressure to use it differently. Thank goodness I don't have to do that especially given that I kinda want to delete my account. Thank you so much.

Thank you. I can tell you aren't just trying to make money from YouTube. I got scammed by one of these YouTubers who had an "exclusive" training module. The training froze on page one and I couldn't get him to respond. You are 100% right as far as conversion. I have been selling on Etsy since 2012 and notice that the high conversion items draw traffic. I have one of a kind items so it's very difficult to have a "best seller" so I have to try other things. One thing that made a HUGE difference was when I add the word "Gift" to my title. I looked at my orders for the last 20 days and 95% that sold had the new addition of "gift" in my titles. I changed about half of my titles and have 500 products. I'm starting a POD business because my jewelry business took a nosedive. BTW... my parents do no social media at all and do very well.

I’m an American living in China. China or Etsy are blocking me based on the mainland IP address. If I use a proxy I can get through. I’m talking about the web browser route.

If I start my store and manage it from mainland China via same proxy, how can I know I will not be blocked by Etsy?

I’m a little confused about the shop sections. Does that matter if I have towels candles and just basically home goods or decor lumped in one shop section does that affect it if it’s a and I put it under soy candles name so when they look in my shop it will show other options?

thanks for the tips! One question about margins for POD. From the research I've done, it seems like a typical margin for tshirts is no more than 30-40%, as the prices I see on listings max out around US$35. Is it possible to get higher margins, or is this a limitation of using printify/printful?
