These two were wonderful to work with at ABC. I was a production assistant for the Captain & Tennille for the entire run of the '76 season. We taped it at the ABC Lot located at Prospect and Talmadge in Hollywood. I had the honor of booking the Sunset Recording studio pre-record sessions for each weekly show...was able to work with all the musical acts booked. Toni and Daryl were very sweet people. I remember visiting their home and playing with the two English Bull dogs...one was named Broderick ( after Broderick Crawford) for get what the female was named...ha...remember their Road Manager asking me if I'd be interested in the position too! The show was executive produced by Dick Clark by the way. Thanks for the video...brought back good memories.

We met them back in their Vegas run. They stopped and talked to us folks standing in line for their show. So very nice and willing to chat. Their show was fantastic. RIP Captain.

You dropped the ball on this documentary, no mention that Toni sang backup on The Pink Floyd The Wall, Steely Dan albums, and a slew of other classic iconic albums, why she had a damm great voice, no mention whatsoever....

Love did keep them together. Their divorce was a thinly veiled asset protection move when Daryl's illness began to get worse. Toni eventually moved back to care for Daryl. They were together up to his death.

I remember the Summer of 1975 and Love Will Keep Us Together was played everywhere 😎

"Love Will Keep Us Together" is a classic, I don't care what anybody else thinks.

haven't read all the comments but please note Toni did sing back up vocals on Elton's song Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. Love her music or not there is no denying her vocal talents.

I never noticed before how HUGE Daryl's eyes were. Each one is like 1.5 times as big as Toni's.

Its actually pronounced Prescut. She is in the Master Chorale Yavapai College one of four choirs at the college. It was fun getting to know her when we all performed at two choir events last fall.

Growing up in England in the 70’s these two appeared on Top of the Pops one day, seemingly out of nowhere. We were used to unusual American acts with keyboards coming through, such as the Sparks brothers. So we were ready for it. Looking back, what I don’t think we were quite so ready for, because it wasn’t the general view at the time, is what they brought to the party that was new. Which was this sense that you could be in a marriage, and a hot relationship, and perusing your life’s vocation all at the same time and with same partner. That was a strong message and it kind of jumped out of the speakers at you without you even knowing it.

I was in a restaurant in Burbank Ca in 1978. They came in and were seated at the table next to me . Halfway thru their meal she leaned over and asked to borrow the ketchup bottle on my table. I said sure and said ketchup will keep you together ! She laughed so hard !

I remember a grade school field trip to see a play she was in called The Rainmaker. Probably 1980 or 1981. I still had a Captain and Tenile 8 Track. I remember her as genuine. Ya know, they were entertainers who seemed to know how to use their 20 minutes well. Thanks for the good memories.

Simpler times. Charming couple. It says Neil Bogart, founder of Casablanca Records died of Cancer at the age of 39, which could have put a crimp in the company. At 7:40 The Captain looks like Bruce Willis in "The Jackel" and at 7:45 Toni looks like Marcy Darcy on "Married with Children". I was into hard rock in the 70s but I knew they were quality Pop stars. Still sing along to "Love Will Keep Us Together" Total professionals.

Thank you for all the info. I loved them growing up. Loved all their songs that hit the radio. I was young but loved their music. Didn’t know that the captain passed. It definitely showed they loved each other.
