Mine uses a lot less. I believe I saw 400MB once on Win 7. You got to stop all those background processes for a fair comparison. Granted I always debloat my windows 7 by disabling a lot of services that I don't need. Interestingly Win 7 boots slower than 10, but once it's up and running it's a lot faster and it just looks so much more modern than win 10. I'm going to use 7 for life or until i can't use it anymore, then i'll use mint.

I have managed to keep ram usage at around 500mb on an old w7 laptop by disableing some really unnecesary services but the lowest i could get to on w10 without disableing anything i use is 1.6gb( of course, without anything running)

When i had windows 10 it used 100%disk and 1.25 gb ram when i went back to windows 7 it went down to 700mb to 1gb

on desktop with 32gb ram and startup for me is around 4gb or 16% and i use up to 16gb with 4 browsers- some having over 20 tabs each plus torrent software. kinda thinking i should have got

windows 7 has 30 process running while windows 10 has +100 process running on idle !!! that's creepy

im using 3-5 percent cpu at idle with this page open lol and 3.5 gb ram but like i said chrome is running this page right now. of course i have 14 gb ram so not hurting anything. my setup is i5 3.3 ghz 4 core. 14 gb ram. 4gb gpu. 2 tb hd and no problems running it. i even game on it red dead 2 gta5 etc

that depended on the machine ... i just setup windows 10 ROG and the both CPU and RAM are high like im gaming but im running nothing...my device was cool with win 7 so i will back to it

The more ram you have usage is higher like me 8gb ram with 2 gb usage idle with 4 gb 1.6

HOW CAN YOUR LAPTOP ONLY USE 900 MB OF RAM!!?? Mine had 4 GB and at idle it uses like 3 GB. Upgraded to 12 GB and it still uses 3 GB at idle.

My clean install window 10 2004 process 160 items. :D Dafuq why you only have 68 items processed? Is this LTSC version?
