Team TaylorMade's Collin Morikawa is on-site at the BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club dialing in his 4, 5, and 6-iron on the range. One of our Tour reps is on-range with him mic'd up talking about why he switched into a combo set with the all-new P·7CB Irons. When he won The Open, he switched into new irons and this year, he did the same. The 4, 5 , and 6-iron stayed in the bag and in this video, he's talking about why they stayed, why he likes them, and how they're a little more forgiving than his previous ones. He also sheds some light on what ball he is thinking of playing and why.

For anyone questioning how he's hitting irons so far, Castle Pines is 6, 200 ft above sea level, which noticably increases carry distance.

With the trackman there, I wish we could get more numbers… AoA, Dynamic Loft, Face to Path, Land Angle, Club Speed, Ball Speed. Would make it so much more interesting.

All I can say is wow! I got my P7CB test club today. Absolutely the best feeling iron I’ve ever hit. These are just incredible and imo many people can play these. Forget whatever your handicap is, if you are a solid ball striker with irons, you can easily game these in a split set. People trap themselves in game improvement irons and don’t really improve. I feel like the only people that should even own them are brand new players. Anyway im absolutely gonna split my set with these. Probably go 456 in 770 and 7-pw in CB. Currently have the 790 and I already want them gone.

On DG TI is wild.
Granted 6, 000+ elevation...
I'm gaming MP 221s on Oban Ct125Xs and am considering a full iron/wedge switch.
223s are too clicky and i really don't see any benefits in performance.
TMade, you may have swayed me...

Idk, to be one of the top golfers in the world, and be so humble and a true gentleman is great to see, I'll say great edit also, kept all the distraction out of picture frame, until the older man decided to walk up the hill, lol, definitely kept my crazy brain on what he was saying and what these clubs are about, beautiful looking irons, trust me I'm not that good enough to have a set of players irons in my bag but I do lol, i could care less about a few miss hits, I can not look down at a GI iron, or even some players distance irons, I do game the pro 225 when the yardage gets over 65 hundred, but the smaller and compact head the better for me, idk like I said crazy brain, shows you how much I know, are all the X balls from differnt company's have less spin and a bit softer? I thought more spin with the X version, I'm sure someone will tell me out there, ty, Best of luck young man, just know that you could be the best iron player in the world, in my eyes, let's see it brother.Be safe, stay well all.

What is meant with 11-8 4600spin btw? Is that path in to out out and then spin?

Everybody wants to say because they pay him. He can choose to play any TM iron they make. They MADE the CBs because of the feedback from the pros wanting certain perfomance from certain irons. Notice not one pro is playing the QI10 iron, even though theyre paid to play Taylormade

Taylor made rolls out new irons and then Collin goes back to the actual clubs he likes

Because they were free I'm guessing
