RMA doesn't mean that the card had issues, people can return the card in Germany up to two weeks after purchase without any reason.

AMD’s drivers were a dumpster fire for several months (they’ll still occasionally bug out) and that prompted a lot of RMA’s.

How much do u want to bet that those RMAs are because of the driver issues

You have to consider though, AMD cards has driver issues so people will still RMA for that. Also it seems that most companies put less effort into AMD aib cards, take the while Asus TUF debacle.

So the rtx 2080ti had a 1% higher rma rate than the 4% we saw on the 5700xt

Most of the RX 5000 series RMAs are from people who don’t realize that it was their XMP settings breaking everything for them and don’t realize until after they buy an Nvidia card.

People that swear by AMD say that uncommon black screen issues can be fixed by using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode. The high RMAs for the 5700 cards could be from this, but really, people shouldn't be expected to do this regularly.

Most of those returns seem to be AMD and Nvidia's high priced/highend cards. I wonder how many RMAs were contributed to either buyers remorse or the cards not being able to be pushed as high as overclockers may have liked.

These results aren't significant. Too many factors that can skew the data. In theory AMD has more quality difference between board partners because the responsibility lies by the board partners. Nvidia does test board partners designs. But to be honest this type of testing didn't catch a lot of the flaws in the past (overheating memory, bad capacitors, bad lead-free solder). Nvidia also fully locks the vbioses from any tinkering. Voltage tinkering is still possible with AMD. But the *main cause I think* is that AMD had driver issues last year. Graphics card simply didn't work for the customer so it ended up RMA. We have seen elevated RMA's in the past due to bitcoin mining and due to bad Nvidia drivers with the Geforce 8/9000 series were the fans stopped spinning...

Also, remember the BSOD you showed us two years ago when you installed your RTX card.
