I think that this conspiracy theory comes from the genuine horror of how we build our buildings now and how we arrange our cities now and how totally just existentially depressing it all is whereas before we used to build beautiful buildings, shockingly, beautiful, and people just don’t understand how we stopped. We stopped because all of our men that knew how to do. This got killed in World War I in World War II. It was incredibly destructive For the continuity of that kind of knowledge because that kind of knowledge wasn’t passed on in universities it was passed from father to son, and it was guarded by guilds, and it was just completely wrecked by those two wars, and then at the end of World War II we had an orgy of fossil fuel and of materials made from oil cheap materials the fundamentally new materials that meant that we could build mass Produced buildings for the new middle class. Where is before all of the buildings were either for the poor or for the rich town, especially with for the rich and all of these magnificent buildings that confuse people for Tortaria, they’re really buildings in town that people don’t understand how much town was just geared towards the aesthetic of the wealthy.
