Technically before the Mothership Zeta DLC, and the VERY RARE Random encounter (and even then you would have to find the ammo as it was probably Launched anywhere) you couldn't get more ammo for the alien blaster after you used it all. Assuming you arent hoarding stuff you'll never use, this is a perfect way to trade it off for anything but caps

You know what, I actually like this a lot, and I'm going to say it's one of the few times Bathesda nailed the Brotherhood as a faction.

Of course the outcasts aren't going to give you anything worthwhile for your discovery of advanced technology: as far as they're concerned they need to get it out of your dirty wastelander hands ASAP and offload something way less valuable on you. The only way it could be better is if the Outcasts turned hostile if you refused to hand it over.

Also love the fact that the mother ship zeta weapons sell for like the same price of a .44 Magnum. Alien rifle that does absurd damage and has an insane ammo capacity or one pistol from 200 years ago? Hmm.

You can get 4 alien blisters. One in the Enclave crawler in broken steel, one in mother ship zeta, one at the crash site, and one in the random encounter.

You know it was a real oversight that they wouldn't allow you to trade the alien guns you get from the Mothership Zeta DLC.
