Spiced Pear Whiskey Sour inspired by @kelseyoppenheim
Looking for a new Thanksgiving cocktail to spice up your holiday celebrations? Try this warming twist on the classic whiskey sour, featuring the perfect balance of sweet pear and aromatic cinnamon!
Ingredients:
2 ounces cold whiskey
2 ounces cold pear nectar
1/2 ounce cold cinnamon simple syrup (made by me see recipe below)
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Optional Garnishes:
Thinly sliced glass pear (for garnish)
Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Add whiskey, pear nectar, cinnamon simple syrup, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake vigorously until the shaker feels cold and frosty.
3. Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
4. Garnish with a slice of pear and a cinnamon stick.
5. Top with a dash of ground nutmeg for extra spice!
Cinnamon Simple Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup cane sugar
4 cinnamon sticks (break each into 2 or 3 pieces)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1. In a small saucepan, combine water, cane sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves (1-3 minutes).
2. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cover and let steep for 12 hours.
3. Remove cinnamon sticks and transfer syrup to an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
