My husband was a gunner on a Huey during his last 6 months in Vietnam. He stayed during Tet just so he could be a door gunner. He loved it. His was with the Robin Hoods.

The helicopter used in M*A*S*H* was the Bell, model 47.

5:15- the Helicopter used in Magnum P.I. tv series is called a "Loche" it's the original version of the Cayuse!
11:00- editing mistake: the chopper shown is in fact the newest version of the AH-64 Apache Gunship! Not a Iroquois/Huey variant.
13:00- the Blue Angels use a C-130 Hercules to transport all their supplies, tools, and spare parts!

The Cayuse helicopter was not the one used in the tv series MASH. The helicopter depicted was the US Army H-13 helicopter (Bell Model 47). The Cayuse helicopter first flew in February, 1963, some 11 years after the Korean War ended. The Model 47 was a simple design and carried only two people in the cockpit and was first flown in 1945.

The Chinook's rotors can not hit each in normal operations. The rear rotor is set higher than the front rotor. I used to work and live aboard Camp Pendleton, CA when my Dad was stationed there. I've the Chinook many times since I worked across the street from the air field. Those damn things are effing LOUD when landing and taking off.

The pilot of the U-2 shot down by the Soviets was named Gary Francis Powers. He survived the shoot down and was convicted of espionage. He sentenced to 10 years, but was released in a prisoner exchange in 1962. He later worked as helicopter pilot for the NBC affiliate in Los Angeles and was killed in 1977 when his helicopter crashed.

The B-52 is not referred to as "Big Ugly Fat Fella" by it's crews and ground personnel. It is referred to as "Big Ugly Fat F**ker".

When you guys make it to NYC they have one in the hanger deck of the USS Intrepid museum. They also have a cockpit of an intruder. The kids can sit in them. I took my son there in 2017, he loved it.

The final episode of M*A*S*H STILL hold the record as the most watched final and single episode of ANY TV series ever. . . . . and, up until February 2010 was the most watched TV show ever, when the Super Bowl finally exceded it in viewership.

Putting the gloves over open engine components prevents dirt and debris from falling into sensitive areas. There are a few homes built into old planes if you search it up on YouTube, I'm sure you can see some

Speaking of "retirement", I went to bootcamp in Orlando and they retired the base soon afterwards, I was then on the USS Midway CV-41 which was retired, and I transferred to the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63 (retired), I then went to a P-3 Orion Squadron, and they have been planning their retirement, which I think is happening now. I then went to an F-14 Squadron (F-14 Tomcats are now Retired). I said to myself; "I think they are trying to tell me something - so I retired - well actually I was retired due to injuries received during Desert Storm (That war is retired). I went on to teach and I am now retired.
So now I play games online and wait for you and The New Zealand family to post videos and wait for the next NFL Season to start but all my favorite players retired.

Regarding the C2. The Navy and IIRC the AF CV-22s were pretty much grounded after this was made; only the USMC continues to fly them. The Navy looked at restarting the C-2 line, but the tooling for the C-2 was destroyed.
MASH was the Korean War. The author of the book was a doctor in a MASH unit and recounted his experiences. He liked the movie and DID NOT like the TV series. The series was more about Vietnam than Korea actually.

The Chinook can float on water. There is a video of navy seals driving their rubber boat into a Chinook while it set in the water.

Yay! I love Graham family reactions! Please check out the Kentucky all state choir singing the National anthem 2019. It's in the hotel the students stay at that are competing in the state competition. It will blow your minds. ❤

Check out the I-80 truck stop. It's the worlds largest truck stop/gas station. It is much bigger than the largest Buccee's.

The U-2 has the other U-2 pilot in the chase car because the plane has so much lift that it can't land unless the pilot causes a stall (this is when the plane loses lift and drops; turbulence causes little inadvertant stalls making the bumps happen when the plane loses lift and drops a little bit); the pilot in the car is there to tell the pilot in the plane when the aircraft is close enough to the runway to basically crash the plane without damaging it.

My father was a combat medic for a MASH unit, the real 8063rd Mash mentioned in the TV show.

The wings on heavier aircraft that carry heavy payloads usually will droop down. As the plane is flying the wing gains lift allowing the plane to carry the heavy load

19:16 Mark! 1K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! 😊

Notes: Who looked at the B-52 and thought it was ugly?! 🤬

The UH-1 nickname "Huey" is based on some people being unable to pronounce "Iroquois" but somehow thought pronouncing "UH" as "Huey" made sense! 😅😂

He didn't say that the U-2 is the "Dragon Lady"!

"A" = "Attack"!
"B" = "Bomber"!
"C" = "Cargo"!
"D" = "Drone"?
"E" = "Electronic"!
"F" = "Fighter"!
"H" = "Helicopter"!
"P" = "Pursuit"!
"U" = "Utility"! 🤔

16:39 we used to have 3 flying over Canada with Nuclear bombs 24/7, it was if the USSR/Russia nuked us, the bombers would go on a suicide mission to Nuke USSR/Russian cities. Btw the B-1 can hold mor bombs but is more expensive, the history of the B-1 is increasing with earlier versions going like Mach 3. B-1 can also hold more than the B-2 but not sure about the B-21. Also check out the Rapid Dragon Missles, Fat Electrician has a video on them, they can just be pushed out the back of a cargo plane and launch mid air

I have seen many US Air Force planes growing up as a child with my father in the AF. My father was not a pilot, but he did serve in Public Affairs and was also in Journalism for the military.

The wings bend down when the flaps are extended. The flaps provide increased curvature to increase lift at low speed like takeoff and landing
