US Navy veteran, we have ships that sole purpose is carrying food, fuel, ammunition to other ships at sea. It's called underway replenishment 😊 They pull along side we have wires and hoses to transfer the goods over while still moving. The nuclear powered aircraft carrier may not need fuel, but the other 11 escort ships do 😊

Conversely, the Chinese J-20 Stealth fighter has the radar cross section of about 5 meters squared - about the size of an F-15 (not stealth) - LOL

I was 6 yrs. old living on a deep South-East U.S. Air Force Base during the Cuban missile crisis. I know personally, young minded non-understanding primal fear where the world is a blur around you not letting you know anything, but I wasn't dumb & had good ears. I Can tell you from experiencing it myself that fear you feel is the great obstruction to your life, you try to be ready to deal with stuff if needed but you must loose that fear, have confidence in the people around you and live normally, the Fear itself is the killer of dreams.

Wish I could have been sitting in the room during this reaction as I could answer pretty much every question they asked. There's so much lack of understanding and misinformation, which is what creates anxiety. If the military capabilities and alliances were better understood, it would alleviate a lot of concerns.

They made a new B-2 bomber because they were still detectable when they had to refuel in the air. The new one can fly anywhere in the world and back again without having to refuel making it truly stealthy!

I understand your daughter being concerned about the nuclear weapons. I was a child during the height of the cold war and at school, we had nuclear attack drills just like fire drills. The thing she has to keep in mind is the last time those weapons were used against people was almost 80yrs ago. That puts the odds pretty low that kind of thing will happen. Phil

7:38 Hi young lady, I’m a 58 year old US Army Cold War era Veteran. I was both an 11B (Infantry, and a 15D (Lance Missile Crewman), the Lance Missile was a tactical short range ballistic missile launched from a tracked vehicle (or towed trailer) and had a 100 Kiloton nuclear warhead.
You don’t need to freak out about nuclear weapons, my generation did that for you, trust that they most likely won’t ever be used again. There’s an unwritten world policy called M.A.D. “Mutually Assured Destruction”, anyone who launches a nuclear weapon (or uses one) will cause all other countries that possess nuclear weapons to use theirs.
Nobody will ever use a nuke knowing they’ll be causing the end of the world.

I have two friends from high school who went on to be in the military - one is currently an F-22 Raptor pilot, and the other was a drone operator for a few years. Both of them have some insane stories. Really cool stuff
