Do you feel an urge to become extraordinary, to kickstart your transformation, to become so good that they can’t ignore you? ✨

That’s how Tom Bilyeu felt too, and it started a whirl-wind adventure to success. 15 years after battling with depression, having his only reason for getting out of bed in the morning being his girlfriend's lunch break ⏰

He learned the art of growth-mindset and becoming ANTIfragile, and he’s about to tell you how he did it.

This Mindvalley Talk goes beyond a motivational speech; it’s a story of terrifying self-discovery that will make you want to confront who you really are.

Lessons I learnt from this priceless talk:
1. Face the self and outside criticism to let you know what skill is missing and needed for your goals. This will be your motivation in tough times.
2. Develop those skill sets constantly as that will create a learning attitude in you and get you to creating awe in your fellow men/women and living a life of excellence.
3. Decide the goal you want and the price you are willing to pay to achieve it in detail.

The whole video was one of the most awe inspiring talks I’ve ever heard.

Every time I hear Tom's story, it never fails to inspire me. He is the living, breathing, persona of "If I can do it, anyone can do it."

Tom, your talk is so synaptic and the way you keep the attention of listeners by using your choice of words, the force with which you speak is explosive. What a story! Thank you for making the decision to help others and impact the world. I too am a learner and heard pearls so wisdom coming from you. I appreciate your determination. Thank you for being you!

"Can't Teach an Old Dog New Tricks" - I helped my Dad dispell this around 2001 and he picked up trumpet after a 32 year break and then BECAME BETTER THAN HE'D EVER BEEN. We can DEFY the norms. I grew up in a ski racing family and started skiing at age 2 and saw really old men do things that checked my reality early on - like lifting whole trees, running over a hundred miles in a day, skiing with incredible athleticism, etc.

I wish I was in that tiny village, in the mountains, living happily in a tiny home. Nature all around, man, imagine the sounds of night! Crickets, frogs, owls, maybe a little natural spring, cold or hot, heck maybe both!!!

Everyone should substitute teach in an area of great need (I served in Madera & Fresno for 3 years and then taught full time in Madera for 4 years). When you are attempting to serve thousands of students over several years, the failures compound and you either face despair or your limitations to serve. To serve well, we must focus, limiting the things we give our energy to, and yet see things as they are without emotionally letting ourselves lose our footing. I think I learned more becoming a teacher while being a parent to very young children than anything else in my life. It's likely because the mistakes you make in real-time don't evaporate, they compound.

FANTASTIC
If I were giving this talk I would say one part differently though. He portrays his younger self as basically a loser and I don't see it that way. I see his younger self was extremely uninspired is all. He described the system he lived in as extremely mechanistic. He's a creative human being. There's the clash. He was brainwashed by the cultural environment in both his immediate environment and the culture at large. His natural youth and naivete left him vulnerable

Living this as a reminder.
Just got an email from Tom Bilyeu's team linking this video.
I'm 28 and at rock bottom the worst depression I've ever heard.
But I'm making a choice to be better to do better to adapt, to be a learner and forge my own path.
