Do you struggle with losing the front end of your motorcycle when riding off road? A big part of that is your body position when you ride standing up. We talk a lot about gripping the bike with your ankles and lower legs instead of your knees. This will allow you to grip your motorcycle further back on the frame and side panels instead of the tank. You want to distribute your weight across the bike to take full advantage of your adventure motorcycle. By gripping the bike at the tank and pushing your weight forward, you load up the front tire too much and start lose traction and eventually wash out.

Thank you! So many talk about knees on tank but my 6’2” 260lbs and Scrambler 1200XE don’t jive like that. I’ve started squeezing just aft of the motor, narrow of the seat, and it feels so much better…but contrary to what most say to do. Ok, enough of that…I’m going riding! 😂

SO in gravel / Sand more weight goes towards the rear wheel... and more weight towards the front on cornering ???

Ive heard the exact opposite advice from an expert motocross racer, so I have a hard time believing this one size fits all answer.
