#1 Mistake When Leaning #motorcycle

Your mind, your body and your bike should be prepared for the turn before you ever arrive. A lot of people don’t understand that if you want to push the bike to its limits, you have to have a tremendous amount of respect for the integrity of the suspension and your contact with the ground the highest level riders make it look easy because they’ve done it so many times, but the truth is, it’s incredibly difficult. #motorcycle

The best reason for setting up early with body position, is to just to get that maneuver done and over with. When approaching a corner you have several thing to accomplish, 1) adjusting speed...aka braking. 2) position on the track, 3) hitting your turn in point 4) body position.

If you wait until turn in, to shift your body your doing more than one thing and that's not conducive to concentrating on the individual objectives. In actuality you are already doing more than one thing because all these actions stated above do over lap. as you turn in, you're also trail braking. So, you don't need a third.

Here's the set up. 1) pop up out of your tuck. 2) reposition and reach for the brake lever. 3) Brake and down shift. 4) approach turn in point. 4) turn in and trail brake to the apex. Imho...

I thought my number one mistake when cornering was not having a bike to corner with

Smooth transitions into your cornering position will allow you to load your suspension better than sudden movements is what he should be preaching.

Why didn’t you post all the video? This is just half. I’m a beginner and I really want to learn. Your page’s been helping me.

You said all the wrong things to do but you didn’t say what the right thing to do is. It would be better if you were more detailed on what you’re trying to get across.

Brake at the correct moment dont hug the line and then lean according to the angle of the turn dont lean too much on a relatively less curvy corner by not hugging the line you will have s faster exit and will be in a correct trajectory

I like practicing this in the twisties seven though body positioning is largely unnecessary for street riding. Feels really awkward to position your butt towards the corner before the braking zone/tip in but once you get used to doing it, the movement becomes pretty innate on track especially when you can use the braking inertia to move and exert less effort.
