Is It Possible To Prevent Heart Attacks in Women? Hormones Are The Key

The Women's Health Initiative showed that conjugated equine estrogens (CEE), along with a progestin called medroxyprogesterone, increased heart disease risk in women. But how strong is that evidence?

This review, by Steve Goldring, The Hormone Pharmacist, focuses on evidence directly from the WHI, as well as from other large-scale trials about menopause hormones to answer the question: Do menopause hormones increase heart disease risk? Or do they reduce it?

Should you take HRT for menopause? If that question feels impossible to answer, I'm here to help. My digital course, The Menopause Solution, guides you through Searches, Stories, and Studies to help you make your HRT decision.

It’s so important to have reputable professionals who aren’t hawking snake oils AND are male… who support and share data-backed science behind the importance of female hormone replacement. Thank you !!

Your videos are so valuable! Thank you so much. I love that you give us the evidence-based facts, and dissect and explain the studies to us. We can forward your videos to our healthcare professionals who are in the “dark” and therefore often unwilling to properly help menopausal women.
The main thing that needs to change, in my opinion, is EDUCATION about menopause and associated health risks.

So I’m 63 yo I’ve had high cholesterol x 10 yrs. Other than that I DONT have diabetes, high b/p, NOT over weight at all. I’ve always kept my wt at my ideal wt range. My gynecologist from Kaiser refused to prescribe bio identical HRT because of my age and menopausal 12yrs. And she also said from very RECENT STUDIES showing that it can cause heart disease, A THIKENING OF THE ARTERIES. But I’m seeing a gynecologist outside of Kaiser and she didn’t agree with the Kaiser gynecologist, so I’ve been on bio identical HRT for about 3 months now. But the Kaiser gynecologist put the fear on me, and I do worry if I’m doing the right thing. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? THANK YOU!!

I am confused. If I missed the window will it cause any HARM? I don’t mind less benefits but I don’t want more harm.

I’m 75, I stopped taking HRT when that study was done, I recently started taking bio identical hormones 3 months ago. I know I have missed the so-called window of opportunity, is it too late for HRT to help me? My, bones, heart, and mind, am I just wasting my money or what can bioidentical hormones do for me now? Thanks in advance.

How do you feel about taking bioidentical hormones if you already have heart disease?
