You should never use toothpaste on headlights. It only increases the way they look, but doesnt increase the amount of light coming out. Just buy a headlight restoration kit for 10 bux its well worth sanding it and doing it properly. only non-car guys use toothpaste.

Wet sand your headlights with a fine grit. Then use a plastic base clear coat for best results. Toothpaste method is crap!!!

I would suggest never using nail polish for scratches as when it's wet, it contains acetone which can melt paint, although when it is dry, the acetone evaporates off, it you want to keep your car scratch free, try using plasti dip in a paint gun
