At 8:08, a much faster way than using cards is apply a silicon-based tire shine (like Black Magic's Tire Wet) with a clean, unused dish sponge. Spray the tire shine ON the sponge, instead of the tire (to prevent any getting on the rim) then wipe around the tire near the edge of the rim, then the rest of the tire. After that, just paint the rim. The tire shine will prevent the paint from sticking to the tire and it can be washed right off after the paint has dried whenever you go to wash the rest of the car.
